Steven Gordon

My music for various instruments grows from the same melodic and reflective approach that shapes my recorder and piano writing.

These pieces often begin as small improvisations or sketches that find their character through the colors of each instrument—flute, cello, horn, Native American flute, and various duets. I’m drawn to clear lines, gentle pacing, and textures that feel natural to play, letting each instrument’s voice guide the shape of the music.
