The recorder is both an inspiration and a well‑worked compositional tool. I enjoy recorder music written across many eras — Renaissance, Baroque, and Modern — and I’m continually influenced by artists who have mastered this deceptively simple instrument.
I often use the recorder for improvisation. Walking around or sitting in a favorite chair, the instrument has given me countless motifs and full melodies. I pair these ideas with piano and software‑based composition tools to shape them into finished pieces.
