About Me

I’ve been a lifelong listener to classical music. When I retired, I began exploring Native American flute and alto and tenor recorders. Improvisations gradually grew into composing on a laptop using software like MuseScore to shape ideas into finished pieces.

I continue to write melodies for recorder, piano, and other instruments — music that feels warm, intimate, and quietly expressive. I’m also working through music theory and composition books by William Russo and Alan Belkin, improving my skills in shaping melody, harmony, and form.

Beyond composing, I really enjoy biking, hiking, and photography. In northern Alabama where I live, the woods, water, and ever-changing sky inspire both my time outdoors and my music.
